Registry officials are subject to the Instructions for the Registry, as drawn up by the Registrar and approved by the Court on 20 March 2012; these Instructions replaced the ones drawn up in October 1946 and amended in March 1947 and September 1949. Registry officials are also subject to regularly amended Staff Regulations, which are virtually identical to the Staff Regulations of the United Nations and United Nations Staff Rules.
